I am trading in my Xterre for a 08 Frontier Auto/6 cly/ 4X4.

The tow rating states 6100lbs. is this true?

I plan to tow 2 snowmobiles in a enclosed tralier.

Trailer would be 17ft at 4500lbs and both snowmobiles would equal 1000lbs.

Will I have problems? Want to know before I sign my name on dotted line.

not to sound or look silly, but what does the gear ratio do?

I will check with service desk.

Would tow snowmobiles dependent on snow storms at least 6 times a season. Other wise it would be 3 Atvs and that could be a 1 -2 dozen times. Surprisingly I would use my Frontier as a truck, it will be off road, see mud, coal dirt, etc.

Did you tow in mountain regions? I live in Northeast Pa so I am concerned with the inclines

I had a 88 or 89 Nissan pickup (dual 4 cyl) that I LOVED! The only truck that would beat me on dirt piles was a TOY.

any aftermarket items i should look into getting to aid with towing?

danny here dependig gear can help enginge braking having the motor slow you down and for get up and go Example a 3.73 will keep engine revs up a bit higher than my 2.93 and when you back off the gas the 3.73 geared truck will down sooner than my 2.93 when you back of the gas the 3.73 will give you a boogie feeling leaving a stop light. No I do not live in the moutains I`m a florida boy. A lot of people on the site like Banks and Magnaflow cat backs look into the profomance and tech section for upgrades my truck is stock now and it will blow the doors of a TRD tacoma stock to stock
