I have a major annoyance in the form of my catalytic converters rattling.  Now, I haven't got the chance to get underneath to see if it's just the heat shields, but I thought that I would ask if anyone out there has bought any high flow cats and used them in place of the OEM stuff.  If my cats are going bad, I would want to stay "legal" and put cats back in place.

Thanks for your time!

I had the same problem with mine until I removed the heat shields. They rust loose and rattle. I asked the dealer about them and they said they remove them all the time. They said it's only an issue if you were to park in some tall grass that might catch fire. I tried wiring the 2 clam shells back together with mechanics wire and this worked for a while. I finally gave up and just took them off and that was about a year and a half ago.

I had the rattling from the heat shields too. I just bought 2'' metal pipe
clamps and secured them with that. 2 years and no rattles since.
