Well I can't seem to find the original post I made anouncing I had
found a real great looking leveling kit from performancelifts.com. Well
don't go to performancelifts.com. One reason is that no one will ever
return your call. The only way to ask a question or place an order is
to call and leave a message or write an email and hope someone will
call you back. Well, that won't happen. About two weeks ago I called to
ask a question about the leveling kit they offered. One day was almost
down so I emailed and called. Another day went by and no call or email
responce. I tried calling one last time before I gave up hope. Of
course, no call was returned, so I looked to the internet to locate the
same kit from another distributor when I stubbled upon what is now
titanspecialist.com. At the time I ordered it was a different web site.
When I found it I was so very happy. PRG actually stands for pre-runner
greg. The kit was $12 cheaper, which isn't a great deal, but is still
less. When I called I asked about the difference in the different kit
options they offered. I actually spoke to Greg and he was extremely
helpful. He was also very nice and answered all my questions. I asked
to order the kit so he put me through to his wife Jen. She was also
very nice and even tried fitting my order into shipping that day, which
I was unfortunatly too late. When I recieved the package I was very
pleased with the quality of the product. It came with everything,
instructions and all the nuts, washers, even new cotter pins for the
upper control arm in the front. Install was a breaze. It can be done on
jack stands, which is how the instructions are assuming you are going
to do the install. I was using a lift which made things a bit easier.
The only type of allignment instructions this kit comes with is how to
set toe. I would highly recommend that if you do the install yourself,
at least have a pro do the allignment on an allignment rack. I am
itching to get 285/65R16 tires too, but I would like to get some use
out of the 265's that came on the truck first. caster and camber were
both out, as well as toe. The most difficult thing I had to do was the
allignment, which tells you how easy the kit was to install. This will
stiffen up the rear as the rear portion of the kit involves blocks. It
takes all the travel out of the rear shock. The only complaint I had
with the kit is that it came with washers and new nuts for the rear
u-bolt, but the bolts wern't long enough for the 2" blocks to allow use
of the washers. So, no washers were used. All in all a great kit. This
is how the Frontier should have come from the factory. I will post pics
soon. Highly recommend going to pre-runner greg, not
performancelifts.com. You can email Jen at jen@prerunners.com. Very
helpful and very nice people. Any questions please feel free to
ask. Email is the best way to reach me. I don't log on here too much.
