fenders do not help with clearance if you are speaking of clearance in the strict sense of ground to truck clearance, however if you were talking about tires and having the ability to stuff bigger tires under your fenders that could indirectly help a minute amount...note..minute. On that note, if you were looking for fenders...SLR (spencer low racing) has some fiberglass things that i remembered seeing after reading your post, but they aren't cheap (obviously) and probably wouldn't be worth the investment unless you are going to be doing some serious offroading imho. hope it helps, they also have fiberglass bed sides..but not necessary probably even if you did the fronts
the other option is to trim your fenders, but that would also involve some clean-up after trimming to maintain a clean look on the edges of what you cut out.
