hey guys im new to the forum just wanna say hello and i was wondering if you could give me some advice...i have a 2001 nissan frontier runs very strong and i like the truck very much, it has a gibson cat-back K&N cold air and thats about it i was wondering if the SLR header would be worth it? it does get rid of the pre-cat witch should free up horse power and make it sounds alot better...x-mass is coming up haha

that would be a good xmas gift, a couple things to keep in mind however. if you live in a state that has emissions checks, these headers might cause you to fail emissions testing. in correspondence with SLR, they indicated that the "offroad use only" label on these headers was because they know that they won't pass CA emissions testing, but they are notorious for being more stringent than any other place in the country historically. if you don't have this issue...more power to you. another thing to keep in mind is the effort it is going to take to install them, some have said before it is a slight hassle to get them in, but if that isn't an issue to you either. than go for it. (you can find write ups, possibly on this forum or another one about the install of aftermarket headers, tho i'm not sure it's 2001 specific so it might not apply) another rumor floating around was that www.4x4parts.com was developing some street leagal headers , but apparently that rumor has been around for some time. I haven't hit their website in a while so not sure if they selling them or scrapped the idea...you could always hit them up with an email.

oh and welcome to the forum
