Will going from the 265/70/16 stock (garbage Long Trail slicks) to a 265/75/16 (as in the Nismo) have any negative effects besides knocking the speedo off a bit?

Had a Jeep Rubicon and the speedo was off anyways with the factory 16" wheels and taller MT/Rs compared to the sport model/standard Jeep.

The 16x7 wheels(both SE's and Nismo types) seem to fit a bit better with a taller tire, per the specs from Pirelli,Firestone, and Goodyear.

Thank you...

..

StormCrew;

... Ouch! I was surprised and got very good service from the OEM Long Trails on my ’99 4x4 on the sharp Colorado rocks. I’ve since installed BFG KO At 31x10.50x15 tires. Uping the size a small amount has not had any negetive effects on any my trucks.

Here’s a link to a tires size calculator to show the speed change ;

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It is not the dry traction...

Water and ice/snow coupled with the 6speed and GREAT motor cause severe tire spin.

Thanks for the response.

StormCrew;

... Put about 1,500 pounds in the bed. And buy a few extra U-joints and clutch disc. And a TSM, a nice full tool box and a big floor jack.... I had that problem 50 years ago...  I now drive like I have an egg taped on top the throttle most of the time... well part of the time anyway!
