Has anyone have or have used this intake for a 06 frontier se v6 i was told a cold air intake decreses the low end torque because of the lean air fuel ratio by the ecu at the low rpms.

I have been looking at it.  It seems that we dont have a lot of low end anyway, I have to wind mine up a bit anyway.  The AEM I was told by Nissan here, should not set off the MAF sensor due to there being no oil on the filter like some other companies.

Yeah there shouldn't be any problems with the MAF, because it's oiless, also it has a very good filtration / flow rate from what i've read, if you go into the sticky's in the modifications section on this forum, you will find a post that I put up with an independent research orginization that did a study comparing the dryflow from AEM to other intakes of competitors and see what you think, AEM posts this on this website so you can find it there as well. Not to throw a wrench in the decision process, but nother fairly new oiless CAI system is made by FRAM, called the boost , http://www.framboost.com/ but I have not heard or seen any reviews or studies done on it to compare it to other filters. But just another one you might wanna look at as an option. I have been leaning towards the Bruteforce for my fronty personally.

as a side note, i was just reading an article/review on a toyota offroad site after googling the Fram Boost CAI and it was calling their oilless filter DRYFLOW as well....so i guess that leads one to wonder if they just bought/paid AEM for the right to use those filters or are connected somehow. if anyone knows more, please feel free to add.

Dont have alot of low end you must not know what torque is if you dont think that  the vq40de is one of the only gas engines that produces 90% of its torque @1800 rpm that is diesel power my man.

by  the way a nissan is nothing but a torque monster i have owned nothing but nissan products from the ka24e to the vg30 and i will tell you the ka24e produces more low end then the vg30 does then i can go drive a 2006 toyota tundra v8 hook up to a 20 foot empty 2100 pound trailer and travel 70mph and climb a hill and the tundra is looking for 3rd gear not the vq40 it stays in od and pulls it right up the hill without looking for another gear now that is torque buddy.

the KA24 originally was nissans truck engine back in the day from what i remember reading and it is a torquey little monster, loved it in my 240SX, would love to get a 4x4 Hardbody 4banger and modify it and see what kind of fun can be had offroading with that thing as those engines are very resiliant and reliable

I'd only wheel the Ka24e... the newer ka24de has a weaker head designe and is prone to faliure... I loved my 90' 240... beat the bag out of it for 2 and a half years, then sold it for the same price... ha!!! cant beat that with a stick.

I run a AEM Bruteforce in my F-250 w/ 7.3L diesel.  I went with it because the lack and oil, and the fact that cleaning them is so easy.

I was reading an off road article where they use it for Baja racing.  They used to have to carry around like 12 filters for each race, now they just take along 1 extra AEM filter, just in case the one they have develops a hole.  When they stop to clean, they just smack the filter against the tire.  (though AEM doesn't recommend that procedure for cleaning)
