I have a 06 frontier and I am in the market for some new 18" rims and wider tires. I have heard that if you put 275 and 285's on the truck that they rub. After looking at the plastic fender liners and the air dam it appears that the fender liner could be modified to eliminate the rub. Also the air dam could have a backer bracket fabricated to push it slightly forward to eliminate the rub there.
Has anyone made these modications to the plastic fender liners and air dam to allow for wider tires?
I would like to find some black and chrome wheels and tires that will fit. Also I need help with the offset issue. I have heard that it needs to be 30 but some say 18 will work. I cant get a definitive answer to this.
I currently have chromed factory wheels and BFG Long Trail T/A tires ( picture below) that look good and I would be willing to sell if I can find a solution to my problem. They have 2K miles on them, almost new.
Any help would be appreciated.
