I have a 2002 Desert Runner. It handles its own (for being a 4x2) off-road. I could really use a locking rear diff. what do i have to do?

Have about 800.00 for An ARB air locker they are the only MFG only you can get/use as your rear axles are 33 spline. Then about 250.00 for the compressor then about 250-300.00 for a rear end shop to intstall it and hope they did it right unless you know how to set it up.

you can also get a mechanical locker thats like 400 like powertrax or something similar and about 300 for install.

Please tell me Where you can get a Mechinical Locker at  for a 33 spline rear axle

 you could go with a replacement of your 33-spline axles with some older 31-spline Nissan axles (you are looking for ones with Drum Brakes and ABS, older Frontiers are the best bet), and then you could go with a Lock-Right or Detroit locker. Check out: 4x4parts.com mechanical lockers

For what it would cost you to do the conversion to 31 spline axles you might as well just put in the ARB and be done with it.

Cool  I have been looking at the new X ant the new Frontier as a tow vechical I am going to turn my Frontier into a trail rig in the next year.
