Has anyone had any experience using/sleeping in the truck bed tent?  I've seen these in brochures and even found some universal type ones in the Bass Pro Shop today.  When I got home I did a search online for truck bed tents and there are lots of them!  So, it sounds like a great idea...anybody ever actually use one?

I looked at these last year before I purchased my traditional tent. I liked
the idea until I began to think about needing to take it down every time I
wanted to drive somewhere during our camping trip.

I have never tried one but that is what stopped me. Good luck.

..

Truck bed tents are nice in snake and varmint country. But the wife and I perfer the hard shell camper covers. We like our 1976 Full size 1976 Wagoneer even better. There is less problems with cold weather or hail storms. Here's a PIC of our home made toilet.

We carry a 10' x 14' tarp and a coulpe of poles to hang on the back or side if the weather is bad or we need some shade.

You can buy tents that open on one side and fasten to the back of a pick up with a camper shell or the side of a wagon.

Good Luck..Don S..
