Alright here's the deal. I have a 2005 stock frontier, and i wanna give it a more aggressive off-road look. Im in need of new tires so i want to get some nice aggressive tread tires. I just dont know which one's or size. Its says i need 265/75/16 but all the tire stores say 31" 32" 33" i wanna know whats the BIGGEST tire i can fit on my truck without lifting it, and another thing,i love to off-road but my commute to work is 30min one way on hwy so i need something that may work for both. I need a good, dependable, aggressive, and long lasting tire, that wont break the bank... I know its prob one in a million but if anyone can help PLEASE...im going crazy.

I;m not to familiar with 2nd gen frontiers but, Im a member of another nissan board and alot of people have them and i believe(from reading their post) the magic number is 32. That is on stock wheels too. I know you said you didnt want to lift it but you can get a small lift  thats easy to put on for a fairly low price .Heres a link to a few small lifts that will make you a little more off road capable.http://purenissan.com/2005_frontier.htm

O ya, about them tires. The best tire for what you are calling for is a bfg all terrain of something similar to it. I had them on my old truck and they were a good tame tire with decent off road capabilities. I wouldnt recoment them if you like to drive through deep mud or anything but if you keep it to a minnimum and know the limitation of the tire you wont have a problem out of the bfg at. Good luck picking out your tires and stuff, post some pictures when you get some new shoes on.

Well i definently appreciate the info on the lift, and yeah i may lean towards lifting it a bit. And about the BFG A/T i have definently heard about and looked at them, and yes they are very good tires for a decent price, but right now im more interested in some TOYO Open Country M/T's. What do you think about those, they look damn good, have good ratings, and people seem to say it does well on the road. I just hope they last a while. Ill definently take a look at those BF's some more.  And yeah, ill get some pics up with the shoes here in a couple weeks, im in Iraq right now and heading home VERY soon woohooo LOL And thats when im getting my tires so ill post some pics. And if you can come up with anymore info, its greatly appreciated.

I just checked out purenissan.com and really like the 2.5 suspension lift, i think i will do that. BUT!!!! I am so ignorant (hence why i joined the army LOL) is the install pretty simple, and will it lift the front and rear evenly. I mean the price is primo but...if its a pain in the ass and doesnt complete the job im SOL. It looks relatively simple but looks can be deceiving.

danny here a 265-75-16 is a 32inch tire and will fit on a 05 newer trucks have some LT 265-75-16 C rated tires. To the BFG tires trhe long trials I had sucked. I would check out some AT pro comps. Mine are Michlin LTX/ MS cause 80% of my driving is highway. A 285-70-16 could fit but if u use it off road that pretty plastic front peice would get riped of the 285-70-16 is about 33inch tire. This is about a truck safe man

The comcept of the  lift is pretty cut and dry. Depress the coil springs put in the spacer, unbolt the stock rear shackle put new one on. Or un bolt the u-bolts and put the block in, whichever route you decide to go. I would recomend doing the shackle in the rear. The coil springs can get a little tricky sometimes, just make sure before you attempt the lift you buy a coil depressor( check sears and places like that). I would also recommend having a friend there with you, its always good to have a set of extra eyes and hands there. from the trucks ive seen with this lift most of them sit level or pretty close to it. If you dont like the way it looks in the front you can always go to an auto parts store and buy some cheap twist in coil spacers( i believe they give 0.5" of lift and you will need two per side probably). A few of my friends with Yotas were not happy with their lifts and put in the twist in's on shortly after and problem solved.

The toyo mts are a pretty good tire. A friend of mine had some on his z71 and he loved them. They were real tame on the road, had decent grip offroad, and didnt wear out fast.
