Everytime I fill up in my '06 4x2 CC, the dte reads less and less. It only has 2880 miles. When I first got it, the truck only had 10 miles and a dte reading of 364. I filled up last week dte- 329, today after fill up dte- 314. Also I get mpg spikes, up and down. On the hwy I got 29.5 mpg's but today around town- 11.2 mpg's. Any one had the same experience or know the cause?

..

skinnyJ913;

... Many vehicles have a problem getting the final two gallons of fuel in the tank including our Sentra, Frontier and Grand Cherokee. Sometimes air bubbles are displacing fuel and sometimes not. A lot depends on how level the surface is near the pump.

... Your fuel mileage also depends on the accuracy of the odometer reading and all of it depends on tire pressure and size and driver skill. All the above assumes that the truck is properly tuned and driven.

Have a good one   and  CUL.. Don S..

Thanks Lakota. I am going to try a different gas station next time. The past 3 fill ups have been at the same place on my way to work. Also, I will try to squeeze in a little more gas. I will post again next week with results.
