you must have noticed once you switch to defrost the a/c compressor comes on and stays on even if you switch back to any other setting. dealer and service manual both say this is normal. but i dont want compressor running all the time.

has anyone wired an override or shut off for the compressor on their truck

I think if you turn the fan switch to off position the AC will stop running but you then must rely on the speed of truck to keep air moving thru the vents until you do a restart of engine to reset the AC switch...

I was wrong...the AC still runs...Anyone got a fix for that...It just burns more gas for no reason!
