Please check the lower corners of the front of the box, right in front of the rear wheels, Nissan has a design problem that stones will hit this area and remove all the paint and rust will set in, since rust comes from the top, not the underside of the truck they will not pay.

Also Nissan refuses to any thing about the damage, because they say they do not cover stone chips even if it is a design flaw

Yup. Adding some clear 3M Protectant Strips does wonders. Here is a link to where I purchased mine.

When I bought my '05 CC 4x4 the step bars were on backorder, and during the two weeks I waited for them to arrive at the dealer, I got one nasty, deep chip in each rear fender flare.  It's been a year now since I had the step bars installed, and I haven't had a single new chip (and I check often).  I'm not suggesting that one invest in step bars to protect the rear fender flares (though you'll probably find them handy), but if you're getting a new Frontier with step bars fitted, they're fat enough to deflect most rocks.  Protective tape is still a good idea to be safe.

My step bars are on order. Whish i had known this chipping problem sooner. Diddnt know to ask till i experienced it for myself. I spoke to Nissan about it and they claim they have never sean that happen before. He actually had one in the show room that was all chipped up and he just played dumb.
