New guy here.
My 2019 Nissan Frontier with 122K miles on it has a
new "wobble" that is most apparent at 40 to 50 mph
range. (Automatic trannie, 4 cylinders, plain jane).
Background: For months it has had this annoying rattle
when at idle when stopped and trannie engaged, rattle
goes away when shift into neutral. I thought it was my
home made catalytic converter "anti-theft" device I
had bolted more than a year ago rattling.
I thought it was something to do with tires, just had
new tires installed, no change.
Took it back to Discount tires arguing it was tires
out of round, they swapped out to another brand of
tires, no change.
I jacked up each front wheel, rotated wheel checking
for wheel bearing wore out, pulled tire side to side -
- no apparent wheel bearing bad. I can't check rear
bearings as all connected to drive train, tough to
spin.
Crawled under truck to check shock mounts, engine and
tranny mounts, U-joints, differential, drive shaft
loose or other, nothing apparent.
At low highway speed when noise most apparent, you can
shift into neutral and no change in noise-wobble, waw-
waw-waw-waw.
Putting brakes on has no effect.
I really thought it was a wheel bearing, followed
advice of experienced mechanic to take it out on a
deserted highway and at 40 to 50 mph steer left and
then right "loading up" the bearings, I could not tell
much difference in the waw-waw.
It has to be a "rotational issue" since there is a
definite decrease or increase in the speed of the waw-
waw sound when you slow down to 35 mph or speed up to
like 50 mph.
I am stumped.
Any help appreciated.

If it were mine, I would take it to Nissan and see if
they can find the problem.
Have the Mechanic Ride with you, so you can show them the
problem..

Unfortunately, my local Nissan dealer "sharpens their
teeth" on too many customers, I really don't savor being
one of them.
I did have my auto trannie fluid changed out by Nissan,
thought they would use official Nissan fluid, but no, I
discovered they used EPL brand synthetic trannie fluid.
I am not a fan of hyperchlorinated paraffinic
lubricants, having read about how they degrade over time
with moisture into hydrochloric acid, I know of an
entire aluminum oil pan being eaten up by same.

Well Then ~ I would Try to choose a another Nissan
Service Department if possible.
I guess my next Choice would be a Full Service Firestone
Service Center..
I do as much Preventative Service Myself, Includeing The
Recommended Service on the ATF. Never heard of EPL Brand
ATF Fluid. Mine Specifie's NissanMattic S ATF. I use
Valvoline MaxLife that Specifie's compatible with
Nissanmatic S ATF. @ WalMart the MaxLife is about 25
$'s for a Gallon...
So far I haven't had a problem with either a Nissan
Service Department or Firestone, but like I said,, I try
to do as much preventative service on mine myself.
