I have a 1998 XE frontier.  Condition is pretty good actually.. however my headlight covers have developed a film over them, im sure you know what Im talking about, and ive tried removing them.  I have no idea where to begin.  I was working on it with my dad, and it seemed as tho you need to take the grill off?  We tried that, but now the grill doesnt lock back into place.  The locks are very wierd.. they are square and are supposed to go back through and turn.  I was wondering if anyone knows what I mean and could help me with that and my headlight covers.. Thanx

The body clips for the grill are easy, they're the same design used on my 90 Maxima.  You just have to push them through, and make sure the little side slots are pryed out a little.  The fact they look like they turn is to help in removal.  When turned, the side slots retract in a little, allowing them clip assembly to come out.

For the Headlight covers, you could try the Flitz product.  I haven't really tried it myself, so you could give us a review.  Other than that, I have no idea what to use.

rodd, I have a 99 Fronty and last year I used the same polishing compound I used on the body. It helped a bit...the problem, of course is the plastic they use for headlight covers...sigh...remember the good ole' days when they used actual glass for headlights? Y'know, the same stuff they use for windshields? The good news, at least, is that unlike the bad ole' days, they don't use sealed beams anymore. But they were cheap to replace. I'm scared to ask a dealer what they would want for headlight covers...My headlights aren't very bright; probably the originals...I guess they lose their intensity over time.

I just installed the new headlights.. Hilights i think they are called.  You can tell that they could be bright as all hell but it cant seem to get past the foginess of the lens.  Its still better than the original bulbs, however.
