Still waiting for my truck... should be here in early feb.
I bought the 2.5 auto also as most of my driving is to work and back (200km round trip) The dpchip (from the people I have spoken to) increases power and torque which then holds the gears longer before shifting therefore reducing the up/down shifting all the time.
The best part of the dpchip is that it goes in after the ecu so it doesn't cause bogus errors in the ecu.
I'm putting one in a 3l patrol for the exact issue you are describing and will see how it goes in a few weeks.
