I have noticed that if I have the fan on with or without the AC/Heat etc, I hear a increased fan-like noise about every 30 seconds.  Its gets kind of noisy for about 5 seconds and then goes away.  Then it comes back again.  If I turn the fan off, I don't hear it anymore.

I tried seeing if it was gas pedal related - step on gas to see if it does it only then but I was parked with it on and it does it.  I am going to take it in the dealership on Tuesday and have them look at it.

Anyone else have this whiring kind of noise when they have their fan on or even AC on?  Its not AC related but could be some kind of thermostat trying to regulate the flow of air into the cab.  I don't know.

Thanks,
Greg

No, it sounds more like an increased load and therefore the fan revs higher.  Its kind of like a computer power supply fan (at least on my Dell) that when the CPU starts processing and the load increases, the fan revs higher to keep it cooler.  However, with the truck, it occurs at regular intervals every 30 seconds regardless of whether I am moving or stopped.  Very odd.  Have to take my truck in tomorrow to get the Sirius installed and will have them look at it and see what they say.

ive noticed it once or twice on my truck while idleing...hearing it with the window down and not moving ofcourse.  this happens with my mitsu eclipse as well while the car is just sitting idle with the ac or fan on...the fan would kick in for 30 secs or so then shut off --- in intervals.  my truck does it too--- i usually have my radio on with the ac and windows closed so to me it doesnt matter too much-- i kinda written it off as a function of the ac just kicking on and off...

Yea, thats what I was thinking.  I usually have the radio turned up loud enough where I don't hear it either.  Just didn't know if it was something that needed adjusting or just another feature.   As long as it doesn't get any louder, it will be ok.

Thats possible.  It almost sounds like a thermostat regulating the temperature - you know like those ones in old homes where you hear it hissing like.  Thats the sound it makes.
