can a solenoid purge valve test out ok and still be
bad.what else could cause p1444 on a 2004 frontier 2.4 L

It can be working mechanically but leaking vacuum.

Thanks for the response. I put 15 inches
of vacuum and it held for until I put 12
volts across the coil. A local dealership
gave me the complete diagnostic series .
Basically, that code , even though it
specifically directs you to the solenoid
valve, it could be any part of the vapor
recovery system and you have to test ALL
of the individual parts, unless you just
have extra money to throw parts at it.
