I have a 2004 Frontier, 3.3 non-supercharged. The truck runs, and idles
rough randomly. I hooked up the OBDII, and was getting the awesome
P0300, nothing else. As you know, there is a long list of things it "Could"
be, so here is what I have done so far:
1. Replaced Plugs, Wires, cap, rotor - Still running the same
2. Checked for vacuum leaks - Nothing
3. MAF Sensor - Still good
Noticed when i rev'd the engine on the throttle body, I heard some rattling
where the timing belt is...so i torn it down and the timing belt was pretty
loose. Replaced the timing belt, tensioner, (and water pump)
It doesn't seem to be idling rough like it was, but i can tell there are still
random mis-fires, and the Check Engine Light is still on. I need to run
codes again, to see if anything new came up, but wanted to get some
feedback if anyone else has other ideas.
I know I should check fuel now, and wondering if anyone has past
experience with this, if they think this could be the cause?

Remove the cap(hopefully it is a GENUINE NISSAN cap), rotor
and inspection plate, see if there is any debris in the
dist. (dust, small ball bearings). Is there any looseness
in the dist shaft? Are you using an oil impregnated Nissan
air filter? Have you cleaned the MAFS w/ approved cleaner?
How many miles on it?
