2002 Nissan frontier V6 3.3l

I made the mistake of running the truck low on gas one morning but figured I still had enough to get to the corner gas station.  I parked the truck at my house, turned it off, went inside for a few minutes, came back out and I couldn't get it to start.  The engine will will try and start but it wont catch.  I figured I had ran it dry so I put about a quarter tank in it and tried again, it started this time but only ran for about 30 seconds before dying, then it wouldn't start again, same problem.

I replaced the fuel filter, thinking maybe I had clogged it.  While I had the gas line removed from the filter I had someone try and start the vehicle to check if the fuel pump was pumping, which it was (though I haven't checked the pressure).  The replaced fuel filter didn't fix anything either.  I noticed that I can smell gas from the engine comparmtent when I try to start so I assume that gas is getting to the engine.  I am considering problems with fuel injectors (though I imagine it would start even if one or two were bad) or the fuel pressure regulator.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

How many miles on it? Do you have spark? Remove dist cap,
have someone crank eng., see if rotor is rotating.

Problem fixed, thank you.

I wasn't thinking electrical but I checked the plug wires and I wasn't getting any spark, turns out I had a loose connection to the distributor.  Easy fix.  Thanks again
