Hello- My stereo buttons are starting to fall off. Is this stero compatible with a 2000 Extera? My current stereo is the single disk type. Can the stereo be removed without setting off some sort of security lock on the truck or stereo, and then be replaced with a similar year or newer fit radio?

As long as it's a regular stereo and not the Rockford
Fosgate edition you can swap them out no problem. Biggest
thing is when you pull the dash you have to disconnect the
passenger airbag switch. DO NOT turn the ignition switch
to "ON" while it's disconnected. It will throw a code that
you will have to get Nissan to clear.
