I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. 1000 miles. 2 wheel drive. 6 cylinder. When it first starts up (cold or semi cold) I hear a click/clunk sound when it shifts the FIRST TIME from 1st to 2nd gear in the engine area, front end???? As long as I keep driving it without shutting off the engine I don't hear the noise again. If I go anywhere where I need to park it for 15-30 minutes, the sound reoccurs. Any one with the same situation????

Hard to say... I think the dealer will have to help you on that one.

If you can test drive another truck and this happens maybe it is normal. I am still trying to locate where the noise is coming from. I have thought about mounting a small tape recorder to various areas where I think the noise is coming from. This may help me get this sound/noise pinpointed????????

I have the same problem.....dealer told me it has something to do with the brakes "resetting"? Sounds like a lot of BS to me. I have a 2005 Nismo....should have come in yellow beings it's nothing but a LEMON. This vehicle has more clunks, thumps, squeaks, rattles, and problems with everything else one could think of. What a piece of JUNK

Do these vehicles have Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)? The manual says that the system "checks itself" the first time that you drive it each time that the vehicle is started by applying the brakes.

Hard to say... ABS systems check themselves every time the vehicle is started.
