I just got my Frontier out of the shop had the timing belt changed. Less than 4 weeks later the truck started shaking like crazy and shut off took it to the dealer that did the timing belt.  They have told me that I have a broken cam shaft passenger side, and that may not be all of the damage. I asked if the timing belt was put on correct they reply that it had nothing to do with the timing belt replacement. I disagagree.  Can someone help on this topic.

Thanks

it would all depend upon where the camshaft broke. and
even then you'd have to prove that when they did the timing
belt they damaged the camshaft which i hate to say is very
unlikely.

now i would be focusing on what all damage was done.

Do you have any pictures of the damage? It seems awful coincidental that it failed right after a tb job. Makes you
wonder if they forgot to tighten the cam bolt providing
they had the sprocket off to replace the cam seals!
Pictures would be great. Please keep us posted, I hate it
when customers get screwed over.

They could have tensioned the new timing belt too tight and this could have caused the first cam bearing, right behind the sprocket and seal, to fail.

Did you notice any whining noises coming from the engine that were not there before belt replacement? A timing belt that is too tight can make a whining or cogging noise.
