I have a 05' 4.0 4x2 with aprox. 103k miles. When its warmed up at idle my oil pressure hangs down low but once it gets up to about 1000rpm it reads dead center of the gauge. When its cold, it reads half way and once i reach about 2000rpm it reads high. Is this normal????

Old rule of thumb...10 psi oil pressure for every 1000 rpm.  This is why they put dummy oil gauges in the newer trucks.  They always read the same as long as the pressure is in a preset parameter range.

You could also have a sending unit that has reached the end of its life.  Something to check out and perhaps replace.

And i knew the 10 psi rule, im just used to the "dummy" guages i guess< it just kinda concerned me.  Also ever had any noises from the intake runners? Ii was looking on mitchel on-demand and seen there was a TSB for it. Im getting a raddle noise from it. not really worried bout the noise but it kinda gets on my nerves....

My 08 has 27K on it and I have never seen the gauge move at all, from cold fast idle, cold start, or fully warmed at idle or on the highway. It always stays at dead center.

Davidbrady, you have what I have, a dummy needle gauge.  It will never move unless the oil pressure falls outside of a certain set of values.  It is just an idiot light that uses a needle for display.  This was done to keep people from running to the dealer to have their oil pressure checked.

Guess so, I mean when I change the oil and then first start it, that is when I see it slowly start to move, and then pop up to normal range. Also the idiot light works well too in the same situation. I just wish there were numbers instead of just the L and H.

I also notice the charging gauge comes up to about 60% towards high when first starting, and then drops to half way 10 min later.
