Hello all, I'm new here and need help/advice fast, before I end up eating a $17,000 turd. Today is November 15th 2010. On November 13th 2010 (yes, two days ago) I purchased a 2005 Frontier crew cab SE 4 wheel drive with automatic transmission. I noticed a couple of things while driving today that give me that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Intermittently while driving on the highway (2WD), the 4LO light flashes on and off several times and then stops. Also, while sitting waiting to pick my son up from school, key off, engine off, I heard a "mechanical actuator" kind of noise from behind the dash. Then, while driving home, I noticed that the engine oil pressure guage drops significantly at idle. Please, someone tell me I didn't buy a P.O.S!

Drawing a blank on the 4LO lite. Possible concern w/ the
actuator on the back of the transfer, wiring concern, meter
assy, or IPDM/ER. Have to check at work if time allows,
very busy week! The "mechanical actuator sound" may be one
of the mode actuators for the HVAC system. Oil pressure gauge sounds normal as long as it goes up w/ higher RPM.
$17K for a 6 year old truck-OUCH!!!

If the sound behind the dash occurred not long after turning the key to off it
was most likely the retained accessory shutting down
