I am having trouble with the defroster control. I turn the dial to defrost, but the air continues to come out the dash vents. This only happens part of the time and sometimes there is a clicking and thunking sound from the dash, like the valves or flaps are trying to close and redirect the air where it is needed, but can't complete the task. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is an 05 or newer Frontier, sounds like the mode door
motor is going bad or the doors are sticking.
