Hello,

So I was under the truck the today and noticed quite a bit of oil all over the manual transmission.  I'm still not quite sure where it is coming from but upon looking I stumbled across this hole at the front of the transmission which didn't look right.  I posted a picture for you guys.  Is that normal?  I'm thinking not, if so what would you recommended to patch it?  And how the heck would that happen?  I never take it off road.  It is an 02 Frontier XE V6 4x4.

looks like the weep hole in your tranny...it is supposed to be there and it allows oil and water to drain from the clutch assembly.  If you have oil leaking from inside it is most likely from your rear main seal (around the rear of the crank).  You will have to drop your oil pan to replace it.  Getting the top half out can be a real bitch sometimes though.

The rear main seal is one piece, the transmission need to come out to replace it and the housing gasket. Might want to verify that it is engine oil and not trans fluid.

Didnt know they were one piece lol...used to working on older AMC motors.  Sounds like the Fronty RMS's are even more fun.  GL with that.
