my frontier 06 at around 47,000 gas sensor went out in Oct. of 90. It cost $460.00 at the Dealer to replace the sensor. Now I said replace not fix the problem. 4 more sensor later and just 2 week ago today they where told to adjust the sensor in the tank. Yesterday I ran out of gas with little over a 1/4 tank of gas. Lucky I learn my lesson 3 sensors ago and started carring a 5 gal. gas can in the Truck. This morning I made another trip to the dealer.  I was approch by the same Service Tech and he ask what the problem was. I inturn ask him does he really need to ask. He said gas sensor and I said yes. He then told me to follow him to his desk and pulled out some paper work. It was a Tech. Bulletion stating that Nissan is notfiying the NSTB and Dealers and calling back all 06,07,08 Frontiers,Xterra, and Pathfinders. And replaceing them with a new and improved Gas Sensor. It's about Time. and thank you Totoya I don't think Nissan wants to be in your shoes right now. O,yea and thank you Nissan.Because not only do I own a Frontier My wife has a 07 Xterra.  O yea will I get my $460.00 Back.  Note: The Dealer that's does the service on both of our Nissan has been great and I know that It's not there fault.

First of all, it's the fuel level sensor you are referring to. Secondly, it's a technical bulletin, not a recall. Thirdly, the dealer should have known about in the first place, came out in 10-4-07 - NTB07-069A. End of rant!!!
PS the parts for this job are around $113.00 and 2.1 hrs labor, sounds like they really got into your shorts!

Just received my notice in the mail today to have my fuel level sensor replaced . I will contact my local Nissan Dealer in Harrisburg, PA to do the work. The outside of the letter is written in red capital letters IMPORTANT OWNER INFORMATION ENCLOSED SAFTEY RECALL NOTICE. The letter states that you could run out of fuel and cause vehicle to stall and cause unsafe condition and could result in a crash. I guess thats legal stuff they have to print? I'm sure they will replace the part(s) and it will work fine. Have not had any trouble with the fuel gauge since I had it and ran it a couple of times till the low fuel light came on.
