I have a 2010 frontier and got the pig tail that plugs into the back plug in on the truck. After pulling the plug out of the truck plug in and plugging in the trailer pig tail to 4 hook up I tried my test light on it and dont have any power to any of the prongs. Then i unplugged the pig tail and tested the power to the plug into the truck and did not have any power to it. Do I need to connect something else to get power to the plug in??

You need to go to your dealer and get the harness and relays that go in the passenger side kick panel area.

Thanks I found that out, more money and more time, things sure have changed from the old days when u just cut into the wires and spliced your plug in. Do you know if you you use the frontier as a toad behind a motor home can you use the motor home lights now if you plug into the front harness without getting another harness and diodes?? Hope i can install the harness and diodes ok but iouf i need some more help hope I can count on you again.

If you tow your frontier behind your motor home, it better be on a trailer. Check your owners manual.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">

Yeah I checked that out before I purchased the frontier, it is a manual transmission and i can tow it 4 wheels down if I let it run a couple of minutes every 500 miles. Just wondering about whether after placing the harness and relays now will allow the vehicle lights to be used now.

I've seen them starve the transmission input bearing. If you are up to it, you would be better off disconnecting the drive shaft.

Nah not going to do that......defeats the purpose of buying the frontier and why i checked on it before i purchased it. So if Nissan gave me bad information they will be responsible for any damage.

Are you referring to the plugs that are at the back of the left side frame rail? You mean, in order to use these plugs (one is 2 prongs, and the other looks like it is 6 prongs) I have to get a relay to be used in the passenger front kick panel? I recent put in a receiver hitch and wanted to install a brake light that goes in the hitch tube, for when I am not using the hitch. I am not pulling a trailer, just using the hitch for a bike rack carrier.
Thanks in advance, David

yup u have to purchase and install the relays behind the passenger kick panel. easy to do but instructions are confusing.....just take the step panel and the kick panel off and u will see the plug in....yes u can use the 6 hole plug on the left side rear frame.
