Hey Gange...I'm new and stumbled across this forum looking to trouble shoot a loud winding/rubbing around my right front wheel, and knocking when I turn the wheel and drive away from being stopped. This came about when I did a brake job and rotors on my 2000 Frontier 4x4. Had to take the hubs, etc. Since this past snow storm (2 weeks ago) in Long Island, where I was using my 4x4 a lot, the noise has started and has not gone away.
The noise occurs, sometimes, when I start driving forward after backing up and a loud winding/rubbing noise happens and loudens as I speed up. It goes away when I hold the 4x4 know back like I am going to engage it (while driving) and then let it snap back to 4x2 (or nuetral) where I then hear a loud thump and the winding/rubbing goes away.
Anyone else experience this? What are the chances that I replace my hubs (@ 250 a pieace from the dealership) that the noise will go away? Any and All input is welcome. Thank you ahead of time.
