Hey guys, I have an '01 Frontier S/C 4x4. It has the stock 265/55/17 tires, I'm looking to buy some winter tires but can't because there seems to be none available in that size. I'm wonderin' what you guys have done. Local Goodyear dealer advises to go with a 16" wheel and 265/70/16 winter tires. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Actually, I bought the Blizzak DMV 1 tires from TireRack, took them to the Goodyear dealer and he said that since they were atleast 1" taller than the OEM tires, that the speedo and ABS would all be whacked out. Said there would be a liability issue if he installed them and didn't want responsibility for it. He said go with a 16" wheel and 265/70/16's. I just UPS'd the tires back to TireRack.

So is Goodyear implying their own tires in that size are too big????
