Well, I have procrastinated and gotten by with not doing the headliner so far but today the cloth started hanging down so much that it impaired my vision and the Wiff asked me why I had brown foamy dandruff (the foam backing falling down on my head and shoulders)
It's a 2000 Nissan Frontier beater (but it's my beater) so I just ripped the cloth off and then I started trying to take the headliner down.
I have run into some problems that are really questions, I guess. The first one being - - - if you will look at this picture you will see the sunvisor retaining clip (there are two) that are still connected. I removed the phillipshead bolt and to my surprise the sunvisor holding clip did not come off. There seems to be a slotted area around the hole where the phillipshead goes into and I'm sure there is a reason for the slot. I need to know how to get the clip off?
Secondly, the driver's side of the headliner seems to be held on by the window trim and door molding the passenger's side has that including some snap in fasteners that I removed with no problem. Question: does the vinyl window and door trim just snap in place? There doesn't seem to be any exposed screws or fasteners holding them.
Finally the back of the headliner is held by the clothes hanger hook, some push in fasteners, the interior light and the window molding only. So that should be easy enuff to deal with going back together.

Well, it is out, thanks to the link below and some Forum Friends. Was not the easiest thing I ever did, either, but now it's ready for new cloth.

Hi wretched ratche,
Do you have any helping points for someone else taking on the same project?
wlsheadliners.com makes it look real easy.
Thanks,

I took the one in the truck out last week. Just take your time and it will come out. JUST pop/pull everything out and the headliner will come out. The hardest part was getting the liner out of the truck. Use a wire brush to get the glue off.I have not got any kind off material or glue yet. What are you using? Good luck

Howdy Gentlemen, sorry for the delay but I was out of town. I finally completed the project and it turned out real nice, if I say so myself - LOL However, I never figured out how to remove the rearview mirror so I had to work around it and it went ok. Getting it out by myself was a little tricky but my Son helped me put it back in and it went as smooth as glass having someone to help hold one side. The adhesive that I used was 3M Super 90 spray adhesive that a friend had highly recommended and it was real easy to work with. I used waxed paper to mask off the overspray with some stones to hold it in place. Like Dolfans mentioned, "just go slow" and it shouldn't be any problem. The retainer clips that hold the non-hinged end of the sunvisors has a phillips screw and then they pry off after the screw is removed - - - that took a little figuring - - hahaha
Good luck with your Project and thanks for your comments!
