Has anybody else had issues with the cats failing? I had the first one go at 60K and the second one went 9 months later at 85K.
The first one caused the motor to faulter. Thankfully no honeycomb blew back into the engine.

The dealer says $1100 to replace. Shouldnt these things last more than a year? Anybody know where I cna get a replacement cheap? I am tired of staring at the servic engine soon light, but my bank account says it needs to wait.

If you are burning these out, there is a reason.  Are you burning a lot of oil?  Are you adding lots of upper cylinder lubricant?  Are all your cylinders firing properly or are you getting a lot of misfires?  Is an injector stuck open making it run rich?  You really need to figure this out before putting on new cats or the same thing will happen.

Cats are warranted for 8yrs/80,000 miles which should have taken care of your first one. The same one failed again or the other side? If it was the same one, that should have been covered under the 1yr/12,000 mile replacement part warranty.

Driver side cat replaced at 60K (covered under warranty), then again 15,000 miles/9months later at 85k no longer under 80k original warranty, or 12mo/12k warranty.
