Every Toyota Truck I've ever owned has done this at one time or another - A Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner. Every time, the solution was to thoroughly lube the "propeller" shaft at the rear. I'm not completely sure what the propeller shaft is, but it has something to do with the driveshaft coupling to the differential. My symptoms in each truck were always the same. Come to a stop, let off the brake like you are going to take off, and there's a thud like someone just bumped into your rear bumper from behind. I've heard people explain it as "axle wrap" and other things, but I can tell you for sure that lubing that propeller shaft only takes a tech 5 minutes during an oil change, and I've never been charged for it. The lube solutions lasts (solves the problem COMPLETELY) for about a year and a half. So, about every three oil changes I tell the service folks to LUBE THE PROPELLER SHAFT.
Hope this helps you. I just ordered my 2010 Frontier SE AT V6 yesterday so I'll see if I have this issue as well. I should get my new truck in a few days.
