Ever since I got my truck new I've noticed that it doesn't seem to have good power going uphill when I want it to go. It's pretty subtle but it almost feels like the engine is skipping when I give it gas. Once the RPM's get up there, say 2500 or more, it starts to take off. But anything below that it almost feels like there's hesitation. When I give it gas, instead of being pushed back in my seat it almost feels like it throws me forward a bit.
It's really not as obvious as it sounds. I'm betting if I brought it in to the dealer to be checked out they would say they don't feel what I'm feeling. Does anyone know if they have diagnostic equipment that could tell if something is wrong to replicate the situation I'm feeling it in? I'd hate to take it in and pay $$$ only to have them say they didn't find anything. But then again since I'm planning on hauling my bike to Colorado this summer I need to make sure everything is ok.
Anyone have any ideas? Input?
Thanks.

What gear do ya have 2.93,3.13,336? what tire size do ya have? I would leave the OD off when get into the mountains. If you have stock size tires it sounds like Limp mode I have been told this by many. Its somthing Nissan did for gas millage. right around 27-2800 rpms it feels like the secondies on a old holley 4V carb kicked in.

It's a 2008 king cab with a 4L 6-speed standard transmission. I use mid-grade gas and it has whatever the stock tires and gears that came with it.

Thanks for the feedback. Never heard of such a thing. At least I know there are two of us that it happens to.
