I have a 2006 Frontier Nismo with 25,000 miles.  This week both of my headlight bulbs exploded.  I watched the first one go while I was outside the truck, and today, two days later, the second one went.  The interesting thing here is that the bulbs literally exploded -- both of them.  I've never seen this before.  I could see one going, but certainly not two within a few days of each other.

Took it by the dealer today to show them and get new bulbs -- they are saying that there is no way this is under warranty.  Problem is there is glass inside both headlight assembly units and one of the assembly units is starting to flake on the inside....

So.... any suggestions here?  Has anyone had this problem, or can anyone tell me what may have caused this?  It's a dumb issue, but certainly one that is going to drive me up the wall.... all help appreciated!!

How can they say it isn't warranty w/o even determining the cause of the problem? I know bulbs are only covered for 12/12, but it sounds like you have an issue w/ moisture, over charging, bad ground, etc.I have seen issues w/ the BCM causing both hi/lo beam to be on at the same time. The dealer needs to do a little diag.

I agree -- they wouldn't even come out to the parking lot to look at it -- it appears that one of the assemblies has moisture while the other looks fine.  That being said, I'm surprised.  Anyway, we'll see what happens.  I'm away for a week and am leaving the truck with them to fix -- and I do expect warranty!

I called a few other shops and they indicated that for two to explode within a few days would indicate a problem worth looking into... so, time will tell!
