Hello everyone i hope you can help me,

I am the proud owner of a 2004 frontier 4x4 LE supercharged, long bed, crew cab, fully loaded beauty.  I have a dual magnaflow cat back exhaust system a K & N cold air intake, and oversized tires (just one size up i believe it's 70 on 17 inch rims)
Unfortunately money has gotten tight and since i'm averaging 350 kms (217 miles) to a tank it's time to go with fuel economy over fun. I will be changing tires back to the original size when i next need to and i believe i'll be removing the cold air intake as i saw a slight loss in mileage after the install.
My question is, can i simply disconnect the supercharger?  I've read some posts saying they had lost power and it turned out their SC had stopped working and they were driving for months like this.  I would like to know if i can just take the SC out of the equation and try to improve my mileage this way, without hurting the engine in some way. However should i decide to sell at some point it would be ideal to be able to simply reconnect it when i would need to.
I am not fluent in mechanics although i get by with the basics, hopefully somebody can suggest something.
Thanks very much.
