Hi All

New to the forum...I have a Frontier 4cyl. with 163,000k on it and I have never changed the water pump.

Whenever I take it in to the shop for scheduled maintenances they say my water pump is fine.

Should I change just in case or just wait until it goes out?

You are definitely on borrowed time on this.  The seals can go in an old pump and cause catastrophic coolant loss although it is more likely to give you warning as a leak.  Do you drive long distances or just stay within 5-10 miles of home?  If it were my vehicle and I used it on the highway, I'd have the coolant flushed and replaced, the water pump replaced, a new thermostat installed and new hoses put on, including heater hoses.  My son had a heater hose go on a truck with about 80,000 miles and it cost him an engine as he did not get off of the gas in time.  I'm of the better safe than sorry camp.
