Hello all,

     New here, just acquired an 01 Kingcab XE 2.4.  Its in the shop now because of a check engine light, code P0420, Cataylst running below threshold bank one.  Meineke is replacing the cat.  How many Cats are on this truck?  I've heard the 3.3's have 2 but I thought the 2.4 had only one.

     Reading thru alot of search on Google.  It appears that the this model seems to be prone to Cats failing as well as other Nissans.  I've only owned 95 and older Harbodies prior to this one.  Is this a new trend among these trucks?

    Also while researching I ran into an article concerning theft of Catalytic Converter from trucks because they contain metals that are in high demand from scrappers.  This is a scary thought.  I am considering having mine bolts welded on, at least the would be thieve would make noise cutting it off.  Something to keep an eye out for though for those that did not know about this.
