Hoses and belts don't make a check engine light come on. If you go to Auto Zone, they can hook it up to a computer and tell you what code tripped the light.
You may want to get what ever tripped the code fixed. It could either be a sensor that had a hiccup, or one is broken. Some Auto Zones will tell you they can't clear the codes because they don't want to be liable. Some Auto Zones will clear the code though.
If they can't clear it, I hear if you leave your battery disconnected for a long time (over night) it will clear it. I have not tried this, its just what I heard.
Either way, get the code checked and see what made it come on in the first place.
good luck!
