I have a 4cyl 2005 40,000 miles, the vehcile has a slight knock, feels like tranny engaging, this only happens from a dead stop to start, anybody can help explain ? It also seems to vibrate or shutter when slowing down not sure where this is coming from?

Is it a standard or automatic?  4x4 or 2x4?

squb;

This is the type thing that one needs to hear and feel in person. Service Salesmen have a hard time doing it even when they get to drive your truck! If you're close to me I'd look at it.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State . A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!

Hi -  I have the same issue on my 2006 4x4.  When I take off I hear a clink.  I am also now sensing vibration on the highway.  I have 45k miles on it.

I just purchased (3/5/08) a new 2008 SE 4x4 4.0L  automatic Crew Cab. I experienced a "bump" when the transmission downshifts from 4th to 3rd at 40mph to 35mph. The service manager tells me that the universal joint needs to be replaced (1011 miles). It experiences torque from the transmission. Well I would hope this is not a design flaw. I just posted this message
