I'm wondering if there are similar problems to mine. I had to replace the resister for my '02 Frontier at 17,000 mi. I had to replace it again at 40,000. They told me it was the blower motor "dragging" the resister and that I had to replace the motor if I didn't want it to fail again. Expensive!! Shouldn't they have replaced the motor the first time, when it was under warranty??? Guy

In reality yes... but the way they work is to get whatever the problem is fixed.  In this case it was your resistor block that fried.  So they replaced it and got the fan working again.  To the dealer, that's all the farther they needed to go.

Now on the second time around, they should have looked for a cause.  In this case it was the fan motor.

I hate to say it, but they're not going to honor it as a warranty.  But you can do it yourself.  It's not that hard at all.

The only other option is talking to the Rep from the regional office.  Ask to have him come down to determine.  But I don't think it'll do that much good.
