Hi all,
This is my first post - I did scan through the threads and could not find any problem similiar. Anyhow, I have an 07 Frontier - it has power locks with keyless entry. The truck has 10,000 KMs on it - in those 10,000Kms my wife or I have been either locked into the truck or out of it on 7 different occasions. I can not repeat any of these problems - it seems to happen randomly.
Locked In: 4 times - the doors are locked (i don't recall locking or not locking them) and both power lock switches will not work. You also can not move the mechanical switch. The only way to get out is roll the window down and put the key into the external lock and turn.
Locked Out: 3 times- One occasion I unlocked the doors with the keyless, opened the back door grabbed my cooler and laid the keys on the seat. The doors then locked on their own. 2 other occasion I started the vehicle and shut the doors - the vehicle the locked on its own. On the most recent occurence I was in the back country, cell phone in the truck, no one around for miles - I cringe but I had to take the window out. That was yesterday and I am severely ticked. The spare key will forever be taped to the chasis.
When this first started happening I thought I might of hit the lock button on the remote accidently. But this has happened way too many times in a short period to be the problem - and my wife also had it happen. The owners manual says there is a feature that is supposed to prevent the keys from being locked in the truck AND there is an auto lock feature. I am thinking this may be malfunctioning. I am bringing her to the dealer to get checked - I am hoping there's a chance they will cover the window. Afterall this should not be able to happen. My gut is they will not be able to find anything - I could not repeat it yesterday - and I tried very hard. This is my fist excurion with Nissan service department - hopefully it does not leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Anyhow - I have my doubts after reading the posts - but has anyone had a remotely similiar problem??? Does anyone have any insight on the problem?
