On acceleration, I feel a clunk, but do not hear it when I takeoff. This does not happen everytime. I have taken it to the dealer, but they say it is not bad enough that they can find what is causing it. To wait till it gets worse.
Does anyone else experience this and is there a solution?

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

It would be nice if our members would add their vehicle information to their signature (similar to mine) plus add their City and State . A member in the same town might be willing to drop by and help you with a problem. Or drink all your beer!

BobE,

I have the same clunk/feel in my '08 CC SWB 2WD Frontier. Let me know if you figure out the issue. I will also do some research on the problem. I had a simular issue with a chevy 1500 back in '01. I was told that you could put grease in the spline to buffer the clunk. But I traded the truck before I got around to trying the supposed fix.

Hi, I just purchased a used 2006 LE Crew Cab 2WD with 12000 miles and have experienced the same issue.  I am going to take it to the dealer and see what they can do.  I have never really gotten into hard from a dead start but it almost feels like maybe a broken motor or transmission mount.  Like you, I don't hear anything, only feel it and sometimes it is more noticeable than others.  Please let me know if you have learned anything new.  Thanks, Chris.

All,

I did some research on the issue and it seems alot of people are saying the problem is due to axle wrap. This is when your springs wrap up and let your diff move downward causing a clunk feel in your drive shaft. You can prevent this by installing some helper springs. I purchased mine @ Advanced Auto parts for about $25. I have 150 miles on them and would say about 90% of the clunk feel is gone. Alot of the problem is due to the mid-size truck springs with so much HP 260+ in the new trucks. Hope this helps.............
