Hello all.  I just picked up my 2006 4X4 Crew Cab yesterday and LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!  Awesome power, great looks out and in (went for the steel cloth interior), and got it for a decent price ($27741 off the lot - no tax, 11500 miles).  I did not get the key fobs from the dealer (non Nissan dealer as truck was imported from the U.S.) and there is only one key lock(driver's door).  Sure would suck to have someone try to break in...wouldn't be able to open up the truck after that.  I called the Nissan dealer and they said I would have to replace the "BODY CONTROL MODULE" at a cost of 7-800 bucks.  Like I'm doing that.  My first question is can I purchase new key fobs and have them programmed to the truck based on the VIN?

Second question:  I also did not get a FSM....will order one online soon, but in the meantime does anyone have a diagram of what all the "idiot" lights are in the dash (12 of them)?

Lastly, I have the tiedoown rails attached to the bed, and found the tiedown points(large brackets with hole in them) under the rear seat, but there were also some smaller aluminum "cubes" about 1 1/4"  X  1 1/4 inches square with a bolt thru the middle.  These slip nicely into the tiedown rails, but I have no idea what they're used for.  Can someone clue me in?  Thanks!

The little cubes go into the ends of the tracks (or elswhere) and prevent the easy theft or movement of the tie-down bars, bed extender or bed divider.  You put them in and thighten them down.  It prevents the casual thief from removing some of these parts easily ; they still can if they loosen the cubes. It will also give you better security for the tie-downs if you have a big load tied to the insertable tie-down clamps.

Ahhh yes...makes sense now.  Gotta hate the casual thief.  Thanks.

I had the same experience when I bought my 2001. Unless they have changed drastically you can buy one from an ebay seller with programing instructions.

Mine was super easy. No vin # or anything complicated. I just followed instructions and did a sequence of button pushing on remote and viola, it was good to go.

check out the ones I just found for your year.
