What's up yall.  I got my ac system checked out recently because it was'nt chillin anymore and the tech guy said it has a bad evaporator and condenser.  As well as a bad hose.  I'm considering repairing it but it's a bit costly.  It got recharged at the shop and some new refrigerant put in it and right now it's working good.  It gets super cold.  I had it checked out about 2 weeks ago and it's still working good.  I was wondering, what if I get it fully recharged and refilled would it hurt the system to run it like that.  If not, how long would the charge probably last.  The tech guy said it could last for months.  Anyway if I could get away with recharging the system instead of repairing it, then i'd rather just recharge it because it'd be much cheaper.  Any advice anybody?

I dont know too much on the subject but i would say you just have to think about it, do you want to get it repaired and hopefully never have to worry about it, or atleast a good amount of time, or use time now and then and money to get it recharged. Just a thought.

sounds to me like the guy is just guessing.  That's a big area of problem for such a small leak.  Take it somewhere else to get a second opinion.

take for a second opinion for the evap and cond. coilst togo bad is rare unless the frame is rusted out on the truck from high salt the coils are aluminum and to the best of my knowleage Al don't rust acid will eat it but rust no you can clean the coils to with a non acid cleaner boughtat any HVAC supplier and recharge is good the r134a is not CFC it's HFC and does not require a cert. to handle you buy it at walmart even just dont overcharge cause it will put tomuch liquid in the compressor and burn it up taht is over 2grand in repairs.
