I need to replace my stock 265-55-17 tires on my 2001SC  Frontier.  The problem is a VERY limited choice in this size.  (only 1 that I found)   To keep the same diameter I have to go to a 225-65-17, or something similar, which I'm not too happy about.
My question is; has anyone found a suitable replacement for this oddball of a tire size.  I'm looking for an all terrain tire that would be better in the snow rather than on the highway.  Any sizing suggestions and tire recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all replies

Here is a link that you can go to to compare tire sizes online http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submi t

Always keep in mind that plus sizing of tires can affect the vehicles handling capabilities and overall safety.  In your case if you were to go from a 265/55R17 tire to a 265/65R17 tire you would increase the overall diamiter of the tire by 6.84%.  You would most likely want to recalibrate your spedometer as well because if you were showing 60mph, you are really only going about 56mph.  Best thing to do, is do your research, there are a lot of places that are only out to sell you tires and not give you all of the information that is really important to your overall safety.  I am also not telling you this is what you should do, only that this is an option if you are looking for more of a selection of tires.

Drop down to a 15" rim run a 33/12.5/15 or a 32/11.5/15  That should be close enough to stock
