I picked up an 05 Frontier about a month ago, and love the truck so far, but recently have noticed a squealing on start up and while driving, seems to increase with RPMs and will go away off and on.  I am assuming it is a belt issue, but was wondering if this is a common problem, and if there are any known issues with bearings or tensioners or accesories (compressor/ h20 pump)  Any feedback would be great.  Thanks

Well a couple of items then

1. Is your A/C on when it does it?

2. Does it go away off and on depending upon if you move the steering wheel?

Either could squeel while being used.  The A/C by cycling on or off.  And the steering pump if you turn the wheel.  Could be a sign of a worn belt, or bad bearings.

bro

maybe just loose drive belt. sometimes those things can be a little tricky check the deplection. book says 1/4 inch, usually if you have a bad power steering you would see it leak,,..therefore positively belt is the caused.

It's the belt and the tensioner.  They need to be replaced.  If it has under 36,000 miles they will do it for free.
