Hi everyone I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X and I am going to be towing a 18 ft. travel trailer and I would like to know what kind of gas mileage I will get?

Welcome to the group!

To answer that one question I’d have to ask you ninety nine questions and they would effect the fuel consumption greatly.

Which way and how strong will the wind be blowing. Tail winds are great. What is the frontal area of the trailer, how aero dynamic is it, and what is the weight? Are you running 10 or 15 percent Ethanol fuel? The tire pressure and speed you drive will also greatly effect the trucks fuel usage.

There are several posts in this part of the forum that have discussed fuel mileage with a trailer and hopefully some of the members will speak up.

Click on this one...

Have a cool one.. Don S..

18 ft sounds awful big for a Frontier, what is the weight,
does it have brakes? My feeling is, if it is big enough for
brakes, it's too big for a Frontier. Just my opinion. And
your mileage will be crap!!

I just want an ball park figure before I buy the one I am
looking at has a slant front end 7’ wide 19’ long with tong
250lb hitch weight and 3500lb GVW. I know with winds it
will be worse and if you go to fast it will affect the gas
also. Just regular gas. I have read a lot of the posts but
right now I get about 16 ½ miles per gallon. Thanks for all
your help.

I have a 2013 crewcab 2wd and pull a 23' Jayco gvw 4900#. Gas mileage is around 10 mpg depending on terrain- if you have to haul up mountains it will be less- it will be more on the flat and level. Great tow vehicle this thing has guts!

Thanks we bought a 16 ft. Lance with slid out. We can get
up to 14 mpg if we just go 60 from there it goes down but
we average 12 mpg which is great when your pulling you own
place to stay.
